One more Casino in SihanoukVille

And there's one more casino coming to SihanoukVille, Cambodia. Just off the Golden Lions Circle, near Fortuna and Golden Beach Club Casinos. As yet to be named, but rumored to be the biggest.

Holiday Palace is again renovating and expanding. Upstairs is Cambodia's first Indonesian restaurant, and downstairs may be a sports betting club and more. The newly renovated slot gaming room has bee quite full.

Fortuna has seen steady gains in table gambling, especially after midnight. They've had many successful prize drawing throughout the year for new motorcycles, TVs and cash.

Golden Sand - Golden Beach Club has seen the most improvement lately, with a new mix of machines and the introduction of electronic baccarat and blackjack tables. They're the only casino without live card games, but have the newest and most modern gaming machines.

The planned casino on Otres Beach is making progress in the planning stages, and what else is coming up, is any one's best guess (or bet).

Cheers from Sunny SihanoukVille, Cambodia.

Casinos and Rain in SihanoukVille, Cambodia

Not much happening on the Casino scene here in SihanoukVille during the rainy season.
The casinos are all doing well, however, due to the rain. Much nicer being in a well lit, well maintained, happy place, gambling, eating and drinking, than being on the beach on an overcast day with rain.

Golden Sand's Golden Beach Club has added a couple popular baccarat machines that use real playing cards and can accommodate up to 6 people at a "table". They're also having prize drawings during the next two months.

Holiday Palace Casino has finished the renovations of the Lobby Casino, exclusively with gaming machines, and is now turning back to the main casino, with numerous renovations.

Fortuna and Peak Casino are doing well as usual.....

That's it.

More and more

With the 400% growth in casino here in the last year (from 1 to 4), the number of gamblers has probably grown twice as much.

Holiday has completed it's new gaming machine room, and usually has a dozen or more people minimum inside. The baccarat tables have more and more people every day. Texas Hold'em still hasn't taken off, however.

Golden Beach, has gotten in new baccarat machines, and is doing well with it's roulette machine.

Fortuna's got the biggest blackjack crowd, with it's $2 tables, and is doing well with baccarat as well.

Rumours of 2 existing places getting gambling licenses, as well as some talk of casino's on the islands.

No big events coming up in the near future that we know about.

Texas Hold'em is enjoying a small boom at a half dozen of the bars around town, and every week, someone else advertises another tournament.

That's all for now.

New Years continues.

New Years is over (thank god) and the party is continuing in the casinos.

Competition is really heating up, and it's great for the gamblers.

Holiday gave away several (dozen) prizes for new years, including motorcycles, TV's, mobile phones, and lots of bottles of booze. Every table was packed for most of Khmer New Year.

Peak Casino, with their $10 table credits and $5 food coupons is also enjoying a good crowd.

Fortuna has been doing the best late night (after midnight) business. Sunday night at 8pm is the Lucky Drawing for $100, $300 and $600 prizes. Coupons are given out at all the tables, and it's great on the $2 blackjack tables.

and Golden Beach Club Casino at the Golden Sands Hotel has really been impressive. They've been handing out $20 credits for the gaming machines on the beach, and have had many "Sit Down, Order a Free Beer, and Get a $10 credit" for the machine promotions. (only catch is that you have to double your money to get any money out). Fair Deal!

The Golden Beach Club and Fortuna have been cashing in on the tourist boom at the Ocheteaul Beach end of town. The beach is slated for renovation soon, so next tourist season should be even better.

That's it!!! 'til later.....

SihanoukVille Casino update

Golden Sand's Beach Club Casino is days away from opening. All the machines are installed and are running through tests. They're letting tourists come in and play for free at the moment for testing purposes, (although you don't get to keep your "winnings" and no free booze or meals yet). This will be the only machine only casino, but some of the card game tables are quite impressive. Also, the only casino with a swimming pool at the moment.

Fortuna Casino has finished it's first 3 months open very well. This is the largest casino in town, with the most gaming tables. The rooftop breakfast buffet is very well attended, and they've got the coldest Angkor Beers in town.

New Peak Casino is also doing quite well after opening 4 months ago. Their comp ads in The Sihanoukville Advertiser with $5 coupons for food, rooms and gambling has attracted a lot of interest.

And finally Holiday Palace Hotel and Casino. The longest running casino in Cambodia in one location at this point. Holiday Palace is in the process of upgrading it's interior, machines, and locating a live sports betting parlor and poker room.

A couple other existing hotels are in talks about getting casino facilities, and a couple large resorts are either in the planning stages or initial construction which will have casinos also.

Looks like SihanoukVille has struck oil already!
